FAQ
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical treatments that is used to diagnosis and treat illness, pain relief, prevent disease and improve well-being. It is effective for physical, psychological and emotional problems. Acupuncture treatment is based not only on the disease manifestation but the underlying cause of the disharmony of the body.
By inserting fine and sterilized needles at specific acupuncture points on the body, this activate the body’s Qi (vital energy) and promotes natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity, physical and emotional health.
The Qi (vital energy) is the most basic substance of which the world is comprised. This concept was based on the ancient Chinese initial understanding of natural phenomena. Everything in the universe results from the movements and changes of Qi. For the human body, health is an ongoing process of maintaining balance and harmony in the circulation of Qi.
According to the classical Chinese text which was written in thousands of years ago, explains that channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. When there is obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers, it blocks like a dam.
By inserting the needles on the specific acupoints, it unblocks the obstruction on the meridians, and helps to regulate the flow. Therefore acupuncture treatment helps those imbalances of internal organs to regulate digestion, absorption, and circulation of the Qi and blood. The modern researches found out that acupuncture treatment stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals and hormones in the body, and stimulating the body’s self healing abilities.
